Three way floor mounting speaker

AX12 is designed specially for the dynamic sound reproduction for the demanding audiophiles. Two 10” paper woofers, one active and the other passive as an auxillary bass radiator, provide the lows.

The pyramid shape mid/high enclosure are optimized  for best imaging reproduction. A  Seas 1” high frequency silk tweeter is  employed for the upper frequencies while a German 1 ½” mid range is used to cover the very important mids. The dual enclosure design minimizes colorations caused by vibration interferences.

The speaker is phase and time aligned with a tilted angular front and is adjustable for different listening position.

The speaker uses Bi-wire input terminals. Five spike sockets are provided. Users can choose either three or four spike support.

•To design a speaker that is absolute phase linear and time coherent (an absolute point source) and suitable for various listening position and distance.
•The performance of many coaxial speaker was compromised by insufficient high frequency response, lack of bass tightness.
•Recognizing constrains of a conventional point source design, Sound Mechanics engineers have spent many years in developing a different approach. The result is essentially a 6 1/2"coaxial unit housed in a special 7 litres compact enclosure with a patented wave guide port. Mechanical phase linear and time coherence are achieved through the deployment of a radical 2nd order serial two-way crossover. The serial crossover not only presents a constant impedance load to the power amplifier, it also produces continuous in-phase signals during frequency and phase variations for the tweeter and woofer. The M7 is probably the first commercially produced point source speaker with both mechanical and electrical phase linearity. The components and internal wires of the M7 are the usual high performance/low tolerance parts specially selected or developed by Sound Mechanics.
•Recommended speaker stand: Sound Mechanics S35 and Sx200
          •Dimension: 9"(W) x 8⅛"(D) x 13"(H)
          •Weight: 7kg
          •Sensitivity: 90 dB
          •Impedance: 8 ohm nominal
          •Frequency response: 60 - 19000 Hz

•Optimum phase coherence, proper time alignment and wide bandwidth are the basis of the design concept of this speaker. The mid is covered by the famed Seas coaxial drive unit. The rear mounted tweeter extends the frequency response to 30k. The newly developed Seas woofer covers the lower octaves. The base is incorporated with a cg stabilizer design which a sand box or weights can inserted into the cavity for further sound improvements.
•This is a very compact speaker and is a good choice for a modern home.
•The base has five screw sockets so users can use either 3 spike or 4 spike support.
